I think everyone has forgotten about how expensive Max Verstappen is for Red Bull. Sergio Perez has a massive fanbase worldwide, and he actually sells more merchandise for their team over Max. Keeping Sergio is the most viable option for Red Bull to keep everyone happy and pay salaries. It is the same reason why Daniel was a third driver for Red Bull before going for VCARB. Also you need to remember that the RB car was the strongest car for a whole season, that kind of power can get the second driver greedy and try to get the championship. Checo knows his place is to be second and just assist Max and add points to the constructor championship too

I actually think this was the right decision, Perez is bad, but is an established driver on his day. Bringing in Ricciardo or Tsunoda would be risky because on paper i would say both of them are slower then him.

Let's see your seemingly better options: -Lawson: He lacks F1 experience. 5 races are not enough to thrust him into the main team. This happened with Gasly and Albon... and those experiences didn't end well. -Ricciardo: I get it: you're a Danny Ric stan (or at least that's the impression you've given through your videos). But, sadly, that doesn't change the fact that he's washed. A lucky result doesn't mean "he is positively, 100% surefire back". He should be thoroughly beating Yuki before thinking to get back at Red Bull. But it's the other way around (OK, maybe not "thoroughly"). Speaking of Yuki... -Yuki: Nice option, but a BIG problem: his main backer is Honda. The same Honda that told Red Bull they were out of F1, and then, out of the blue, announced they were gonna work with Aston Martin. That move, I believe, sealed Yuki's fate: he would be an Alpha Tauri/V-CARB driver until 2025, then... bye!!! -Sainz: Probably the best option. The thing is that I can't see him, or his dad, accepting a 2nd-seat job. He could have fought for the 1st seat in Mercedes, he had no chances to do so at Red Bull. Also, I believe Sainz Sr. (already an Audi driver) is messing stuff around in order to force Sainz Jr. to sign with Audi, which might explain why suddenly both Mercedes and Red Bull crossed his name out of their shortlists.

I heard somewhere something about the contracts of the Red Bull and RB teams that they're able to switch seats, im not sure if i heard correctly but if they are infact able to switch seats then a driver from RB has a chance to switch with checo

The main reason Red Bull is keeping Checo is the money he brings to the table. Compared to many other drivers including max verstappen, Checo brings some of the highest amounts of money to a team through sponors

Perez is doing very well, just cause of 2 races, one that wasn’t his fault and the other cause of conditions you can’t blame the guy. Why not divert attention to Stroll or Daniel who have had arguably an even worse season
